What's the most crowded beach in Rio de Janeiro?

Whether you're looking to mingle or stay away from the crowd, South Zone or Zona Sul is the most popular area for tourist attractions in Rio de Janeiro. Fantastic landmarks and world-renowned beaches are located here: Copacabana, Ipanema, Flamengo, the Sugar Loaf Mountain, Corcovado Mountain, upscale neighborhoods and other wonderful tourist sites. Of course, there's no missing the Maracana Stadium which is the setting for 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. So if you're planning to travel to Rio de Janeiro, book well ahead of time and know the peak (most expensive) and off peak season (cheapest) times to visit.

Off peak season in Rio de Janeiro is from May to July, although almost any time of the year is a perfect time to travel here due to the abundant amount of sunshine.
